The HELP Center - Crime Victim Services Unit, Crisis Response Ministry and the Baylor University School of Social Work are sponsoring a Psychological First Aid course on May 20 in Tyler, TX. The eight hour course qualifies for continuing education (CEUs) and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) credit hours. The course will be held at the Tyler Police Department's Faulkner Substation (574 W. Cumberland Rd., Tyler, TX) from 8:30 AM-5:00 PM. The course is being provided free of charge. While registering at Eventbrite participants will be given the opportunity to make a donation to cover course expenses and materials. Registration opens on Monday, May 1 at 9:00 AM. Seating is limited.
The course will be taught by Dr. Jim Ellor, Professor of Social Work at Baylor University. It is open to crisis responders, 1st Responders, mental health providers, law enforcement, emergency management and those individuals seeking to meet the requirements for becoming a Volunteer Crisis Responder or Chaplain with Crisis Response Ministry.
